Stewardship Association of Municipalities Inc. – Grand Falls-Windsor Carmanville

Objective:

This association meets on a regular basis to reinforce the concept of stewardship, to foster a sense of camaraderie between stewardship communities and to help promote a sense of pride in their achievements.Carmanville participates in a bird-banding program where birds are captured in traps, fitted with metal leg bands, and released. Carmanville Pond is shallow and nutrient-rich, and supports extensive growth of aquatic vegetation and associated invertebrates. Primary vegetation includes cattail and horsetail, providing excellent habitat for dabbling ducks that use the area for nesting, brood rearing, and staging.
