Objective:

The Conception Bay South Fire Department is a composite organization comprised of 22 career and 39 volunteer members. It offers emergency services to a population of approximately 24,000 residents of the Town of Conception Bay South. The department operates 5 pieces of apparatus which are housed in 2 stations, Kelligrews and Topsail. The department responds to approximately 500 calls for service annually covering a wide range of incidents.

Fire Department (Volunteer) – Grand Bank Grand Bank

Objective:

The Grand Bank Volunteer Fire Department shall have, as its highest priority, the protection and preservation of life and property of the community it serves, and the safety of its members. A priority second only to emergency response, is the training of all department personnel to enable them to provide an adequate level of service in a safe and effective manner. The Department shall work with the Grand Bank Town Council to obtain and maintain the necessary equipment, apparatus and materials to perform these duties while seeking to obtain such equipment in the most cost-effective manner possible for the community. These emergency services will be provided within the fire district of the Town of Grand Bank and on a mutual aid basis to adjoining communities upon request from the fire departments serving those communities

The Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philips has had a volunteer fire department since the fall of 1996. There are two locations for this department; one in St. Philips on Thorburn Road, and one in Portugal Cove on Portugal Cove Road. The fire department holds a contingent of 30 active volunteers.
